Sewa - "The selfless service"
| Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh
(HSS) USA is a voluntary, non-profit, social and
cultural organization. HSS aims to organize the Hindu
community in order to preserve, practice and promote
Hindu ideals and values through weekly Shakha and
Balagokulam to develop strong character and leadership
skills in its members (swayamsevaks). Shakha activities emphasize values of self-discipline, self-confidence and the spirit of selfless service (Sewa). HSS Chapters of Greater San Francisco Bay Area organize regular Sewa events for Stanford Blood Center, Community kitchen for Homeless shelters, Resource Area for Teachers (RAFT), and any commnunty service organiztion requiring volunteers. |
